The myth of the Dollface persian

The term "Dollface" is often used by pet buyers as a way to describe a lower nosed pet quality kitten.

We often get lower nose pet quality kittens in a litter.

Many show breeders of persians and himalayans will get these lower nosed kittens in their litters, there is no reason for anyone to breed pet quality low nosed persians (dollface) just to sell the kittens for profit.

The term "Doll Face" is a marketing gimmick to sell what is a pet quality kitten with a low nose, for a higher profit. There is no need to pay an outrageous sum of money for a kitten that was only bred to make someone a profit.

When a show breeder gets a low nosed kitten that kitten will still have a lovely round head, small round ears, a nice cobby body, and large round eyes.  Because a show breeder is taking great care to breed to the entire breed standard.  Not just breeding to make a profit.

If you want a lower set nose on a good quality persian kitten. A show breeder could place a kitten with a lower set nose but also, small round ears, a nice cobby body and large round eyes.  Just ask a show breeder for a lower nose pet quality kitten.
